That is how it should be, for the greatest spectacle is the breathtaking scenery<\/strong> that guests at the Gradonna Mountain Resort<\/a> in Kals am Gro\u00dfglockner can enjoy. What you might call an Alpine amphitheatre has been created at an altitude of over 1300 m, and the most engrossing drama to unfold here is that of nature itself. <\/strong>The hotel and chalets are laid out like one of the region\u2019s typical hamlets, and the timber and glas structures fit in perfectly with the high Alpine surroundings. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Ski in, Ski out<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A perfect location right beside the downhill run for a genuine \u201cski in, ski out\u201d<\/strong> experience. You are just one push of your ski poles away from a great day\u2019s skiing. Guests in the chalets can watch the first skiers in the morning gliding down the slopes. The Gro\u00dfglockner Kals-Matrei ski resort is the largest in East Tyrol and has 15 cable cars and lifts and a large number of pistes.<\/strong> It has something for everyone \u2013 from endless pistes to small freeride paradises. Ski passes can be obtained from the reception, and the hotel also has its own ski hire and sports shop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Responsible approach to nature <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Culinary delights are not far to seek either. Gault-Millau head chef Michael Karl <\/strong>serves East Tyrol specialities with Mediterranean touches \u2013 against the backdrop of Hohe Tauern National Park. A responsible approach to nature and its produce and materials is key<\/strong> not just in the kitchen, but throughout the hotel. For example, guests will find the Gradonna\u2019s own vegan cosmetic brand, MAGDALENA\u2019S<\/strong>, produced in Tyrol, in both the spa and the bedrooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
